TLR ENTERS VALORANT | GREGSONNN

>> TLR WELCOMES GREGSONNN

◾️ A little about yourself?

“I’m 31 years old, born in bred in Leeds! Very proud dad to a 9 year old son called Toby who is rapidly becoming better than me at gaming!”

◾️ An interesting fact about you nobody would guess, gaming or otherwise?

“I once held the record as the youngest player in Europe to bowl a perfect 300 game in competition tenpin bowling (not anymore sadly).”

◾️ Previous Esports Experience?

“No previous esports experience as such, played CS 1.6/CSGO on and off for the past 15-20 years among other FPS titles but I never had the time to take it that seriously due to other commitments outside of gaming. These commitments no longer exist so I will be going full throttle at Valorant and aim to become the best.”

◾️ Why did you join TLR?

“I joined TLR due to it’s past history as a leader in the UK esports scene. Also, due to glowing praise from RobuLus who has represented the org before.”

◾️ How have you been finding it so far?

“Very good! Everyone I have been in contact with has been very welcoming and couldn’t of asked for a better introduction into the TLR life.”

◾️ What do you want to achieve in the org and as an individual player?

“Both the same – to become the best in Europe/in the world. Not sure if it’s a realistic aim at this moment in time but I will be trying everything in my power to achieve it.”

◾️ What’s your favourite thing about Valorant?

“The abilities and gunplay are fantastic.”

◾️ Favourite Weapon and Map?

“Phantom and Haven.”

◾️ Why have you chosen your main?

“I wouldn’t say I have a main as such as I would consider myself pretty versatile and can adapt depending on what we require.”

◾️ Do you agree with the current ranking system in Valorant?

“No it’s terrible!!!! There isn’t enough balance between being ranked up when winning and being deranked when losing.”

◾️ What do you hope for the future of the EU Valorant scene?

“That it becomes a viable game to play professionally for years to come.”

◾️ Favourite skin? What do you think about the prices?

“Skins are not really my thing, I find the majority to be way to distracting. Price wise they seem pretty horrendous to me.”

◾️ Do you think peaker’s advantage will affect your team strats drastically?

“Not really, I think as a team again we are very good at adapting to current METAs so I would think we could adjust pretty easily.”

◾️ When did you meet your teammates and what made you decide you’d make a great team?

“I met my team mates around 4-5 years ago I think (getting old). We gelled instantly and due to us being all around the same age it was very easy to find common ground. We are all dedicated individuals with a burning desire to win so we all have the same goal.”

◾️ Do you think current events have influenced your competitive options so far outside of not being able to attend LAN?

“No, if anything I think it’s increased opportunities as there has been an influx of online tournaments/events due to the current situation. I hope that when things return to normal there is still the same amount of online events as well as LAN events to run along side.”

◾️ Biggest Achievement to date in Valorant?

“We did win an online cup but the competition wasn’t the greatest. If I’m being brutally honest, I wouldn’t say we have achieved much as of yet although we have beaten some very good teams in scrims. Achievements will come with time though, for that I am sure.”

◾️ What online event are you looking forward to the most? What LAN would you like to compete in, in future?

“I look forward to any event that allows me to compete and the bigger the better! Same goes for LAN really, as I don’t know what the LAN landscape will look like for Valorant it’s hard to say but bring on any competition in any format.”

◾️ What games do you enjoy other than Valorant?

“I don’t really play anything else other than Valorant currently although I do dabble in FIFA every now and again.”

◾️ What else do you do for fun?

“Before Lockdown I was very active in the squash scene, which is something I love to do where possible. I also am a HUGE football fan so watching Leeds United play is a lot of fun and I do also play 5 a side football every now and again.”
